-£19,817 - £21,734 per annum
37 hours per week, all year round
Fixed term to 31 March 2016 subject to continued Children's Centre contract

Our Childrens Centre requires two Family Support Workers to work within our multidisciplinary team. A sound understanding of the core purpose of Childrens Centres is essential along with an awareness of the Norfolk Childrens Centre Service Specification and the evidence/data requirements in terms of outcomes for families.

The needs of our area are complex, so experience of working in an area of deprivation would be particularly useful. You will be working to support children's development through play, offer guidance with parenting and to encourage engagement with the Centre. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of the EYFS and the purpose of monitoring children and families progress.
You will have proven ability to identify individual family needs and will be required to design, deliver and evaluate support packages. Experience of working with the Solihull Approach would be advantageous, as would experience of working independently and prioritising workload. Minimum qualifications are NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline and completion of the Family Support Process Lead Worker training. (Applicants without the FSP training will be considered and recruited on a starting salary of £17,333 until such time that they are sufficiently trained to lead FSPs.) Other qualifications/training in relevant fields would be advantageous.

Some weekend or evening work may be required on occasions.

Please email office@earlham-nur.norfolk.sch.uk or telephone (01603 454271) for an application form and further details. A completed application form is required, CVs are not accepted. Email applications are preferred.

1 X PUPIL ADVOCATE AND 1 X TEACHING ASSISTANT

-1 x pupil Advocates - Scale E pt 18 21 (£17,333 - £19,317 per annum) pro-rata
1 x Teaching Assistant - Scale D pt 14-17 (£15,882 - £16,998 per annum) pro-rata

An exciting Opportunity Come and join our Outstanding team at Eaton Hall Specialist Academy and be part of the New Trust Rightforsuccess!
We are looking to recruit one pupil advocate and one Teaching Assistant to start before Christmas 2014 or later by negotiation. The pupil advocate positions require staff to work three days per week (35 hours) and in addition one sleep-in duty from 11 pm to 7am per week (7hrs). In total the period worked each week is 42 hours. This rota has been developed to comply with British and European working conditions.
The role itself involves staff supporting pupils in class in the same way that a Teaching Assistant works to support pupil progress and includes working in a residential capacity. This is a great opportunity to learn about education in its holistic sense and gain a vast amount of knowledge prior to embarking on a career of teaching.
The added dimension in these posts is being an advocate for a small group of children supporting both their home and their development in school. Therefore the remuneration for this is at Scale E which is a grade above Teaching Assistants in this school and the title of the role is Childcare Officer, although this title itself does not do justice to the experience staff receive (please see job description on Academy website).
The Teaching Assistant post will be 32.5 hours per week (Mon Fri 9.00am 4.00pm)
Both positions are permanent and are required for term time only plus 5 training days. The weeks worked are 39 weeks; therefore payment is pro rata over 12 equal monthly payments per year.
Eaton Hall Specialist Academy has an Ofsted rating of outstanding for both academic and residential Ofsteds. It is the lead school in the Norwich Teaching School Alliance and is a National Support School. The Academy is a residential special school for boys in the age range 5 16 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The Academy runs a very strong staff support and development programme. Good oral and written communication skills are essential. You should also be reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character. The academy is looking for people with interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.
Further information about the Academy can be found on our website: www.eatonhallacademy.co.uk or by contacting Mr K. Bates Head of School on 01603 457480.
A Visit to the Academy (by appointment) is encouraged
For an application pack for these positions please contact Mrs L Websdale on 01603 255945.
Closing date: 5 November 2014 Midday
Interview dates: 12 November 2014 and 13 November 2014
(Candidates will be expected to attend both days).
This academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are an equal opportunities employer
