The North City Children's Centre is looking to recruit an experienced practitioner to undertake direct work for families with children under 5 who live in the North City Childrens Centre catchment area.
You will have a qualification in health and social care/ child development or a related professional qualification equivalent to at least Level 3 with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
You will be able to work alongside families in their homes and the wider community offering practical and emotional support, enabling families to help themselves, and supporting adults in their role as parents or carers. This could include helping parents develop household routines, behaviour management strategies and parenting skills and assisting them to link with other services.

You will have:
- Experience of working with children aged 0 5 and their families in a professional capacity
- Experience of assessment/observation of development needs of children and extensive knowledge of child development
- Experience of and confidence when dealing with child protection issues. Understanding of Family Support Processes (FSP) and systems and experience of working in a multi-agency approach
- Confidence in delivering activities and services to families and children within the Childrens Centre area
- The ability to support families and children with specific needs (with the support and input of different agencies involved )

TEACHER-TRAINERS NEEDED BY THE E-LEARNING SERVICE AND A.C.T. (ACCESS TO COMPUTERS & TECHNOLOGY)

-The E-Learning Service provides education to pupils who cannot be catered for in mainstream school because of illness, injury, exclusion, refusal, teenage pregnancy or because they are following an alternative curriculum.

ACT supplies computers to young people in the care of the Local Authority who are between the ages of 6 years and 18 years to support their continued learning.

Both Services will be expanding their provision in the new academic year and are seeking to recruit teachers who would be interested in working on a supply basis as teacher-trainers. Work would be paid on an hourly basis and teacher-trainers will be able to dictate how many hours and when they would be available each week on a very flexible basis.

Successful candidates may be asked to visit on behalf of the E-Learning Service or ACT or both Services. Work for the E-Learning Service will mainly involve an initial training visit to a pupil home to demonstrate how pupils (and their parents/carers) can access and return lessons online. There may also be occasional follow-up visits to review progress and a number of visits to supervise pupils who are completing GCSE controlled assessments.

Work for ACT will involve visiting young people either in their home with carers or in residential units and connecting the laptop to the internet and ensuring the young person (and carer) are confident with the logging on process and use of computer, explaining the safety and security protocols and supervision of an attitudinal survey with follow up visits.

Lone-worker training and child protection training, along with a complete induction will be offered to all teacher-trainers.

The hourly pay rate is set at level M1 of the supply scale (currently £17.15) and mileage costs along with some travel time will be covered.

You must have QTS and access to a car, will be able to offer day-time and/or evening/weekend/holiday working (1 or 2 days per week) and will have good technical and very good communication skills. Because of the need for teacher-trainers in the West, South and East of Norfolk, applicants from these areas will be particularly welcomed although teachers living elsewhere are also encouraged to apply because of the growing demand overall.

Good ICT skills will also be needed to support the curriculum offered to Link Room students and to support progress tracking.
